Tigers 10 Red Sox 0
Josh Beckett ended spring training with a 0.95 ERA, allowing 2 runs and 7 hits and no home runs in 19 innings. Today in the 10-0 loss by the Red Sox to the Tigers, Beckett allowed 7 runs, 7 hits and 5 home runs in 4.2 innings. Beckett left the game with a 13.50 ERA. It is a mystery why Beckett wasn’t given the hook by manager Bobby Valentine, when Miguel Cabrera made the score 6-0 with his second home run of the game in the fifth inning. Valentine left Beckett in and Prince Fielder hit his second home run of the game.
